We’re excited to announce the NEW Mini Insanity Cards — they’re just like the original only printed on a smaller deck of standard poker-sized cards. The smaller sized cards are not only a little easier on the table space, but on your wallet as well!
The text on Mini Insanity Cards has been edited down to fit the cards, so players must do a little more interpretation when applying their effects. Of course half the fun of Insanity Cards is seeing all the different ways players interpret the instructions to suit their character and the situation, so perhaps less is more. Their smaller size also makes them easier to shuffle, and easier to manage alongside your character sheet, books, and dice.
Mini Insanity Cards are available now on The Game Crafter.
Insanity Cards are a generic insanity system you can use with any tabletop roleplaying game. They work as a wholesale replacement for games like Call of Cthulhu or Warhammer Fantasy, or can be layered onto a game that doesn’t include sanity loss, like D&D.
One of the most important things about running a horror game is managing the pacing. Everyone wants their character to have a satisfying story arc that perhaps ends in complete madness. Getting the pacing right for an entire table of players can be quite the burden to GMs — Insanity Cards pushes some of that burden off to the players themselves.
When the GM dictates that a player loses some sanity, they must draw and play cards. The player can choose to spread the cards out to slow the rate of their decent into madness, or pile all their cards into a single madness to completely lose their minds.
Insanity Cards are available for sale now on The Game Crafter.
Do you play online using only digital tools? Or do you live in distant lands where shipping from The Game Crafter can cost more than the actual product? Or perhaps you’re just the crafty sort that likes making their own game components. Well, we have a treat for you!
Insanity Cards – Print and Play Edition is a PDF containing all the rules as well as printable images of all the cards, in both their original jumbo size, and the new mini poker size. Print them out yourself on your own printer and maybe slide them into some standard card sleeves. They may not make that delightful ruffling sound when shuffled, but they’ll do the trick for cheap!
Insanity Cards – Print and Play Edition is available for sale now on DriveThruRPG.
